Reason 5,435,529 why Tightwad loves me.

Note to Self: When you have an unusually warm day, and the snow melts and everything is SOAKING WET, do NOT try an 18 point turn in your steep driveway.

Odds are great that you will NARROWLY MISS the lovely rock wall that lines the driveway, and gauge at least ONE HUNDRED deep holes in the grass that your husband tenderly planted and tried to re-grow last summer after LAST winter’s debacle. Yeah, and that three point turn will take at LEAST 100 turns. (And several righteous mud slides.)

Somebody hide me. Quick.

  1. Can I laugh with you on this one? It's pretty funny.

  2. Blame "Those Damn Kids". That's what I would do.

  3. Corollary: In such weather, do not allow the dog to remain outdoors most of the day, especially if she has fluffy white paws.

  4. Those 18 point turns can be a real bitch.

  5. I am laughing out loud (sorry). You drive like I do.
    xo

  6. You halted your getaway long enough to take photos of the evidence? My dear, we need to get you into secret agent training. This shit has to be clandestine if you expect to make it out alive--and married.

  7. I would so lie, and say someone visited and did when they left...just make sure its someone hubs doesnt llike and never talks too...lol

    peace

  8. Aw, tell him you did it for shits & giggles. :)

  9. Were you trying to spell something out?
It looks like you were trying to communicate in some new form :)

    Peace ~ Rene

  10. I totally couldn't lie because GOLDEN BOY was hanging out the window of the house YELLING AT HIS DAD to come look at what mom was doing.

    yeah.

  11. Just tell him: "Those aren't tire-marks. That is a mysterious message left by time-and-space-traveling aliens (like the symbols in the cornfields ??? ) who are trying to tell you who will win the Superbowl."

    That might work.

  12. Oh my god! LOL at Lee Ryan's comment!!

No matter what you do your little munchkin will rat you out!! Darn it!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh...oops.

You know, I'm not that far away and am willing to hide you.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh, who are kidding? You did that on purpose to give TIghtwad something to talk about when he gets together with "the boys."

You know that they must get sick of him talking about his beautiful, smart, perfect wife, that you gave him a little story to tell.

    Yeah, that's the ticket.

  15. hate when that happens! smiles!

  16. Yes, but if you look at the tire tracks in the right light, it kind of looks like a cartoon cat.

Now that's a little fun, right?

  17. Which way were you trying to go for God sakes???? LMBO!!

  18. If you taught HS you could blame it on an angry student... I'm not guessing there are many angry kinders out there going for joy rides.

  19. I don't understand snow, freezing weather, ice and steep driveways. I'm a Southern Calif girl living not far from the beach. Just seeing pix's of snow and ice make me cold! Props to you for trying to make those turns, you showed great driving skills!
    Take care, Sue

  20. Haha! We haven't had as much snow melt, so the ground is still covered, but I know that is what our yard is going to look like once we can see it again. Oops!

  21. Well if he gets pissy--send him over to see what two semis did to my drive at the farm today.

    It even impressed me

  22. I would kill you if you did that to my lawn. Seriously. I am the lawn person at my home, and I yell at the kids if they walk to roughly on it. Do you realize the work that goes in to it? Tightwad really does love you. Either that or he lives under the motto "It's cheaper to keep her". Either way, you are lucky. :)

  24. You are hilarious & I would still be shaking in fear after this event. What's more scary, the sliding or the hubby confrontation? :0

    ReplyDelete
  25. You might consider hiding here in San Diego! I doubt Tightwad would think to look in this direction!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Are you sure you can't blame it on your kids? Or maybe it will snow again overnight.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's not bad... compared to doing donuts on the front lawn!

    ReplyDelete
  28. opps, I would never do such a thing. [i do lie from time to time]

    ReplyDelete
  29. Don't you worry, he still has plenty of reasons to love you and want you!

  30. You can come and hide here. When it snowed, we couldn't even get our car close to our house. And you'd struggle to drive onto our lawn - it's a few feet above the road. Yep, I think I can safely hide you without worrying about possible damage!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Dang, girl. Could you have blamed it on the dog?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Damn UPS guy it's so rude what he did to your grass! Try that one!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Righteous mud slides are the best kind! High five!

    ReplyDelete
  34. OMG that is so funny! You can come hide at my house!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wasn't that nice of you? Giving him a summer job. He's going to thank you for that later.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thats great ..now how many people can do a hundred point turn...incredible..!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I did that one time, BUT I went into the neighbor's yard. I blamed it on pregnant brain and made my husband go talk to them about it - and apologize profusely while offering to fix it when spring rolled around.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Barely noticable. I'm sure he'll miss it entirely.

    ReplyDelete
  39. obviously it is aliens having trouble with their crop circles. lol.

  40. To make you feel better I will post pictures of what I did to my yard trying to back up and then you can laugh at me and it will make you feel better because surely you would never make THAT big of a mess. Just saying, when you are afraid you will get in trouble, always point at something else and said "At least I didn't do that!"

    ReplyDelete
  41. What was reason 5,435,527? I thought that's the number that we were up to, no?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Run far. I have a playhouse the kids aren't using, we can hide you there. If they catch you before you get here, I'd ground that Golden Boy for ratting you out.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Nice! My husband fell in love with me all over again the day I drove ever so gently into the side of the house. That garage door opening is always shifting!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Great effort. I have noticed along the lane here several cars with dents in them, that I am sure were not there before all that snow and ice stuff made driving and steering so hazardous xxx

    ReplyDelete
  45. Last year, Dani and I learned how to turn around in the grass without wrecking it and drive past the second car in the driveway. I'll send her over to show you how it's done.

    ReplyDelete
  46. At least it's only your yard! Every time I do it I swerve back and forth between my yard and my neighbors so my hubby has to reseed both my yard and my neighbors!

I included this in my Sunday Funnies!

  47. I suppose you could pray for snow before he gets home. If that doesn't work, just lie like hell!

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOL!! Whoops...I would have done the same thing, truthfully!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yikes. Better luck next year. :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Tell him not to worry! Wait until Golden boy starts driving, then you will have to gravel that lawn!!!

Come on people, make me laugh. I dare ya.
