We have a little character this year named Emily. She is Sassy with a CAPITAL S.
Today I sensed something a little fishy and walked with her over to her cubby. I reached in to get the balled-up paper towel that was shoved inside and imagine my surprise when a pair of our kindergarten scissors fell out.
She looked at me and said matter-of factly, "Well. THAT'S disturbing."
I might gift wrap them for her for the end of the year. (She's money, people. M.O.N.E.Y.)
Totally, completely awesome. I want to know that girl when she grows up.

ReplyDeleteI love hearing little kids like Emily! They not only repeat what they hear at home, but they get the context and inflection exactly right. These kid just plain make me laugh!
ReplyDeleteShe is the kind of kid who used to be called "precocious". (I haven't heard the term lately. Now, they are all called "gifted"! I think precocious says it better!
Looks like back pack searches are going to have to be done before the kids exit the classroom.
