During morning meeting we had an animated discussion about what the kids wanted to be when they grow up. The discussion then drifted along with us as we started our learning centers.
Daisy asked, “Mrs. Smythe, can a woman be president?”
“Yes they can! But a woman hasn’t been one yet.” I replied.
Daisy then declared, “I want to be president some day!”
“That sounds great! It would be fun to run for president…”
“RUN? RUN??? Nevermind then - I can't even jog!”

BAHAHAHAHA!
I hope you turned your back and laughed. Because that's what I would have done. Followed by going over to her and hugging her really tight!
Keep an eye on that girl. She just might changer her mind!
HAHAHA! Ohmygosh! So adorable.
I'm pretty sure I wanted to be president for awhile back there. Mostly because I believed it was the same thing as world domination (and who doesn't want that? Plus, I would've made chocolate coins the form of currency...Who wouldn't vote for that?!).
I love your students (as always, and I haven't even met them...). That's pretty nice considering that little kids stress me out ;)
Not just the first woman president, but the first woman president that can sing! That girls got ambition!! LOVE IT!
Ha! That's my kind of girl.

Heh heh... a kid's gotta know their limits.
Bahaha that is awesome
And that sums up why our country is out of shape physically, fiscally, and whateverly. Cheers VM!!
The older I get, the more I wonder at why children express interest in becoming President. Am I too cynical? Or, do good teachers keep teaching the basics of the system, as if our country's core is still sound, still viable, will still endure.
Whoa! Gotta turn off Eminem, sorry.

I say give her the job now, see what she can do.
Daisy is MY kinda girl!
Man, I LIVE with a kindergartener and you STILL have better stories than me. Mine are just chock full of me being driven crazy, my fears that she won't be as smart as me, and her interesting dancing performances.

That child may be mine. Oh wait, I've never actually given birth. Nevermind, must be yours.
Are very pleased to come here and laugh like crazy first thing in the morning!
Bless her heart - I'm with her 100%!
I love coming here and starting my day off with a smile.
At 5 she has firmly grasped what I have been espousing for the last dozen years. "I only run when chased"
Love it! My kind of girl :)
I want to thank you also for sharing and I are pleased as well!

LOL !!!
Daisy and I are simpatico .. I don't jog and try never to run.
Perfect.
Running just wears me out! It's over rated! So is my heart rate when I get done doing it! LOL
Love and hugs, coming your way!
Soo cute!
That's why I'm not president. Ever since my ankle surgery I can't run.
Out of the Mouth of Babes: never gets old.
Adorable.
Nah, I wouldn't wanna RUN for President either. Couldn't I just drive instead?
