A Merry Christmas, and happy holiday to you all.

(This might explain why I'm claustrophobic.)

I wish you all peace, love and joy this holiday season. May your cookies not go to your hips, may your gatherings be joyful and may you laugh until you cry.

It's Christmas Day evening and I am sitting in front of the fireplace warming my feet and my soul. I have successfully eaten the last of the shrimp mousse, the chocolate truffles from the Witman Sampler, the last two pieces of the sour dough baguette, some Camembert cheese and I have not been to the gym in six days. S.I.X. The floor is still covered with wrapping paper, boxes, ribbons and bags, and I don't plan on picking them up until tomorrow.

Sleep well my friends, and I hope your day was very, very merry.

  2. Hmm...I'm claustrophobic too - and not a fan of Christmas. I have some questions for my mom, let me tell you! ; )

  3. Merry Merry ~
Today was hot, there was no breeze, no traffic so there are good things about Christmas in the middle of the effing summer.
Next Christmas I hope to be somewhere cold ... or else.
We ate too much good food today- thanks to my needing to cook to get over my annoyance with the weather.
Santa was good to us this year, we are alive, so is the dog and the kids are well. I am learning not to ask for too much :)
    Love you. C

  5. Merry Christmas!

    Friends and wine go hand-in-hand
Or glass-in-hand, as it may be
I really can’t tell right now
For I’m so drunk I see in threes

    Also...

    The vine begets the grape
    The grape begets the wine
    Our friends be gettin’ glasses
    And I be fillin’ mine

  6. Sounds blissful.

My paper's picked up, my dog's at my feet asleep...the kids upstairs asleep. Husband's on the other end of the couch...champagne at my side.

(and the guilty pleasure of the Michael Hutchence bio on VH1---)

The last week of 2010 is off to a lovely start, isn't it? ;)

  7. Cheese, wine, prime rib, crab. A quiet day where everyone was mostly happy. Including the dog who somehow got out, escaped to the park, and pretended to act to all his dog friends like it was OK for him to be there on his own...

Merry Christmas Vodka. I wish you joy, peace, lots of laughter, and new beginnings in 2011.

  8. Glad it's getting easier, sweet thang.

    May the days grow brigher
    And your burdens be lighter.

  9. I feel sublime when the day is done, the mess can wait, and I go can go over the day in my head. And winding down with a glass of wine helps too.

  13. Merry Christmas, VM!!

I solved the mess problem.... Christmas morning at my daughter's house! Now she can clean up the mess.

Now if I can just get hot water, life would be terrific!

  16. I hope your Christmas was indeed a very MERRY one for you. There is something magical about Christmas. I woke up this morning, exhausted. We did Christmas breakfast & dinner at my house. As I woke up, I thought to myself, "what do I have to do today"? Then quickly said to self, "shit, I have to work"!!

    Take care, Sue
