I’d like to apologize for any and everything that you find awry in the room tonight. We had an afternoon filled with planting seeds, constructing buildings for our city and gluing tissue paper flower projects together.
At the end of the crazed hands-on learning activities that I had stupidly planned for a Monday afternoon, one of my little guys decided that there was no time like the present to get a haircut - from himself.
As I helped Stanley look for his hair under the tables, this provided an amazing distraction for our Frank who slipped into the bathroom and got to work. He managed to slather LAYERS of soap all over the toilet seat, toilet bowl, the sink and the paper towel dispenser. I had no idea the soap dispenser could HOLD that much soap. And neither did he.
I guess you could thank him for making your job just a tad easier tonight. His efforts, however, made my job a tad harder.
(Please enjoy the tiny bubbles floating in the room. Cue Don Ho.)
Well, give Frank some credit. If you are going to rub your hands all over the toilet you might WANT to do so with soap.....
ReplyDeleteNow might be a good time to ask why you stopped teaching 5th grade.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing there wasn't enough chaos?

ReplyDeleteIs it against school policy (and possible police code) to handcuff an very mischievous 5 or 6 year old boy to his chair during class?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I still can't vote for you more than once a week. They just don't like me!
How does Franks hair look?
ReplyDeleteAt least, he didn't take someone else in with him to cut their hair !
( something my daughter might have done when she was small unless it really was a nightmare that I had and not real life)
What is it about little boys and the restroom? This was a hot topic in today's staff meeting. OMG- and we've already had spring break!
ReplyDeleteWait until he spread Icy/Hot on the toilet seat.
ReplyDeleteTotally unrelated, does Frank have an email address? :-)
It's on days like that that I really do think they must have some sort of mischief manual, filled with all sorts of these wonderful ideas. "Let's see...it's Monday. Must be time for..ah, yes, the soap on everything activity...."
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that Stanley and Frank are running a scam on you. Stanley is the "blind", presenting a small disaster to distract you, while Frank is off doing the BIG disaster part. The two of them in tandem are heading for notoriety later in life. I'm sure we will hear of them all through their joint ventures for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThe only question remains whether they will work for GOOD or EVIL! Either way, I am certain they will make their mark! :)
that makes me think of when my sister spread a huge bottle of liquid soap around her entire bedroom (wood) floor and had a grand old time "ice skating" around in her bare feet.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a delightful day and I agree with Mellodee. Definitely scamming you!
ReplyDeleteHow did Stanley's hair look when it was done?
There was a time where janitors loved my boys. When they were toddlers they loved to dive across floors. Many janitors didn't have to sweep after we went places. I, on the other hand, had to clean the filthy clothes and bodies of those little rascals.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gigi about soap and toilets, LOL.
Sorry, your day was so bubbly...that seems weird saying that.
Maybe Frank was making a comment about the cleanliness of the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteSchool janitor has got to be one of the dirtiest jobs around!
ReplyDeletejust think about how boring your life would be without these guys...
ReplyDeleteReading about Frank is amusing. In reality, I'd probably wanna kill him on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteThat kid is crazy...and might possibly need meds.
Never a dull moment! And this is why we teach--well, this and the fact that people will understand why we drink! ; )
ReplyDeleteI think Mellodee is on to something!
ReplyDeleteOh, PLEASE can we see the hair cut? Might have been a nice thought to photograph the toilet too, but hey... I spose you were kind of busy with things.
ReplyDeleteAm slightly green with envy because we have to CLEAN UP after us, as our school caretaker isn't well at the moment, and it gets really MESSY. As you have so experienced today. Still giggling over the hair cutting. We so get that too. xxx
Remind me to buy you a drink the next time we meet.
ReplyDeleteAct two in the Stanly, Frank Travling Show .... please dont plan a stop to my class!.....I'm still smiling, I didn't think my day could of got worse ....(Dealing with the adults at school is whats got me upset)..... I wish it was as easy as a haircut and foam table in the bathroom. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSO funny! I always try to tip wait staff a little extra when our kids eat at a restaurant with us, since they fling bits of food, silverware, napkins, crayons and other objects under and around the table!
ReplyDeleteOften I leave a classroom and say a thank you to the poor souls who have to clean it up.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! And I thought my Monday was bad...
ReplyDeleteI hope he's well paid, that's all I can say! LOL.
