Some days a great song will inspire us.

We sat in the living room, surrounded by the incredible sound emanating from an antique baby grand piano. The voices blended together, and I was speechless.

This was the song.

And this version, thanks to everyone who emailed me, is just as incredible.

My weekend of spiritual healing, enlightenment and just plain FUN has begun.

carry on.

This has always been one of my favorite songs. Sadly, not sure if you know, just when he was becoming popular, he walked into the Missippi River and killed himself, so sad. Rufus Wainwright also does a great cover of this song!

Have a wonderful week-end. I'm off to face my "wonderful" public!

Take care, Sue

His rendition on "Grace" is my favorite...and it often makes me cry.

Shade and Sweetwater,
K (who could use a little grace, 'cause she feels cold and broken right now)

Isn't it the best when friends turn out even better, in person! Enjoy your visits.

This is one of my very favorite songs. I have Jeff's version on my ipod and Leaonard Cohen on CD.

Thank you for sharing with us.

The first time I heard this song was the Jeff Buckley version. I do also love the k.d. lang version. It's one of those songs that's good for taking a breath.

I first heard Jeff Buckley's version on The West Wing. I'm not positive but I think it was the show when Mrs. Landingham was buried. Awesome song - best version too I think although K.D. Lange's is awfully good!

Ah well, since YouTube is blocked here at my job, I'm left a little in the dark. Can someone tell me the name of the song and verify artist? Thank you!

Good on you VM, take some time to find the joy.

I LOVE Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. Thanks for posting!

this song was written by Leonard Cohen ... his orginal version and most that cover it are all about sex and unrequited love. I kinda get a giggle when people think it's all about something else.

I think I have seven copies of that song on my ipod. But k.d.lang is maybe the best.
