We were discussing "symbols" in our community and what they stand for. I showed them pictures of a variety of things, and then held up this one.
Poppy raised her hand and stated proudly, "I know that one! It's the handi-cat zone."

Oh I miss First grade. I just blogged about going to the high school open house. High school is intense.

haha...on the other hand your students seem to know a little more than mine...4 out of 28 knew where Boise was....apparently 4 think its in rhode island
I have a first grader at home and am loving this stage! All those missing teeth make her even cuter and funnier. Hope you are prepared for those "Teacher my tooth!" moments. There are bound to be lots of them.
Love it, well she is mostly right.
That would actually be quite awesome to see as what I'm imagining right now pretty much amounts to 'jazz hands'.
