I am thrilled to be back in kindergarten. I am equally thrilled to be working with two other kindergarten teachers who are incredibly awesome. We’ll call one Mrs. Jones, and the other Mrs. Brown. We share our challenges, frustrations, grand successes and all that is good in this kindergarten journey.
Today we waved goodbye to our charges as the buses pulled away, walked down the hall and Mrs. Jones proceeded to steer us into her classroom.
“Janie shared a funny story with the ‘lunch bunch’ that got to eat lunch with me today. You know I have kids eat with me once a week as a special reward. ”
Mrs. Brown and I nodded knowingly, thinking that she was brave indeed as we both needed just a few moments of quiet solitude in the middle of the day.
She continued, “Well, little Jane said, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know what the MOST scariest thing in the WORLD is for me?’ “Of course, I was thinking she would say something about sleeping in the dark or riding a roller coaster!”
We both nodded, thinking the same thing.
“Then Jane blurted out, ‘When I grow UP and have babies, they are comin’ out of my BAGINA!”
I might have to start hosting a 'lunch bunch' myself. After I stop laughing, of course.
