How to make the teacher smile...

What do you wear to school when there’s a raging snowstorm?

That’s right.

It’s all about the shoes.

My two year old has a red pair that I desperately wish I could borrow. Sigh.

Bwahahahahahaha. I love it. That gal is going to dress for success. Period.

Thanks for putting the badge back up. I voted for you again today. I'll be back tomorrow too. :)

People have warned me about the days when my daughter will get to dress herself...but yikes!

When I was still dropping Skyler off at school last year, I would just shake my head at all the girls wearing their flip-flops into the school walking through 6 inches of snow.

Ah yes, the shoes, my daughter (3 1/2 years) has a pink pair and a black pair of sparklers. Last week she was outside riding her scooter with the black pair....now they no longer have sparkles on the toes.

I don't think I could get my boys to wear those. Sigh.

that way you never get lost in the snow...your own little beacon...on your feet...

So true. My daughter had shoes like that. She literally BEGGED for them and I must say - she got more comments and compliments - even from a trucker at a truck stop, which was a little freaky, but hey.

I'm adopting her.

Even kindergarten girls know that it is all about the shoes. BTW, where did she get those? I really need a pair.

These girls, they know how to make a statement.

Especially in the snow!

Oh she is priceless...I was thinking it was the same shoe princess from last year...but of course she's moved on and up to another grade...it's refreshing to know there's one born every minute :))

What was her name, the one last year? I remember the shoe posts....

That girl? Is going to go far.(But maybe not in the snow. I'm pretty sure they're not built for that sort of thing.

I would like shoes like those.

At that age, with so much style & "sass", she will definately be a winner in life!

I've been amazed at the great shoes girls have today.

Am I wrong, but I don't remember anything like that when I was six.

I'm full of envy. Full of 51-year-old envy.

Cute, cute, cute!! Not much protection from snow but I get that style and cute are much more important than dry and warm! Things sure have changed, up until the time my feet stopped growing, each year I would get one pair of school shoes (usually basic black), one pair of Sunday shoes (usually black patent leather), and one pair of canvas sneakers (waaaay before Nike or Reebok). I more than made up for that lack of variety once I grew up!!

I work in a school too and this floors me every time. It's even better when they are 6 and wearing little high heels to school. The PE teacher LOOOOVES that!

We celebrated Almost 6's birthday in class with rootbeer floats today. Husband went, and he said all you could hear was slurping.

Thought of you.

I was going to ask about Fail, but now I know. I must say I've never heard of a heckler who admits to also being a fan.

Wow, this really should have been an email.

Finally, you are so wise to listen to that heart. I am learning, and paying more attention to those cues.

we had my daughter's special day at preschool, she is 3. it was a snowstorm and they did take the kids outside, to watch them get these kids ready was quite a treat and one little girl had black patent leathers on, so they gave her an extra pair of boots BUT she was insisting she had her own boots. later at pick up it was discovered that she indeed have boots but another little girl took off her own boots and put on the other girls ???? i left thinking i am going to put my kids name in all the clothes like they ask.

I bought my first pair of ballet flats. They are patent PINK. I just knew my first-ies would love them. Today I was 'beautiful' according to the 6 year old girls in my class.

Do they make those in a men's ten and a half?

Darling!!

Of course, its easy to be frivolous in shoe choice when you have perfectly able parents to carry you around. =)

LadyFi said...

I agree! Those magic shoes make you feel warm no matter what the weather!

Heidi said...

Yes, yes it is.

I once had a student tell me, "You already weared those shoes this week." Seriously? Who knew first graders doubled as fashion critics.

Wendy said...

...wait. WHAT?! "Raging hormones..." What'd i miss? Or what did you *not* say?
(i ALWAYS read your labels!)

And to Captain Dumbass: Why, yes they do! But you have to shop at Trannie Stores to find them!
=-)

"There's no place like home.......... there's no place like home!".......oops.......those shoes were red, weren't they?

And Little-Miss-Silver-Shoes's parents outta be beaten! (for letting her wear these to school) :):) In a snowstorm!

Now I don't feel so bad about what my daughter went to school in during the snow storm yesterday.

Gettysburg Mom said...

I'm totally guilty of not reading the above comments today. Forgive me folks- I'm home with four kids. However, I did want to mention we just bought those same shoes for our six year old daughter's birthday yesterday. She could not love them anymore. Score one for Mom.

Chris Mancini said...

I guess the question is.. were you WAITING for a snowstorm to wear them?

Irish Gumbo said...

Hey, you stole my shoes!

...

I mean, someone else's shoes, yaeh, that's what i meant...:)

peewee said...

OH MY GOD....I can't begin to tell you how much this made me laugh/smile/want it to be okay to wear those as an adult.
