Silence of the Lambs. (aka when good ideas go bad)

We watched an adorable Sesame Street video today called "Learning to Read".  The children loved the songs, and were particularly enamored by the singing scientists who wore sunglasses and did a spectacular performance on word families.

(AND OMG here it is!! Thank you You Tube.  Please watch- it's hysterical.)

They took it upon themselves to make their own masks in an attempt to mimic the adorable muppets, and wanted me to video their planned performance of their "At" family song.

At first, the masks seemed to come along nicely as they rummaged for supplies through the scrap box and my craft cupboard.

And then Mr. and Mrs. Lector showed up.

Yikes.

I might not sleep tonight.

Yeah, we don't have any awesome videos like that for French. Actually, no one even makes awesome things like that anymore. That's such a 1970s drug induced haze sort of thing that I grew up on. Not allowed today, though. So sad.

I think a quick trip to the dollar store for a bunch of sunglasses might help you to sleep at night.

And you might want to pick up some feathers for your craft cupboard.

I can't stop looking at their masks and laughing. Love their creativity! However, my adult mind just keeps seeing the Lector family!

You make my day!

Oh, thanks, DEB...for weaving that WEB! Now I'll be dreaming in rhyme...and wake up every time...that I see a mime! Thanks a lot! The good news is that nothing much rhymes with Lurch!

Love this.

However (and let's remember, you opened the can of worms...); they all have a little Mr. Lector in them.

I want to see their video!

Hilarious! Just like you said it would be! I love the masks your kids made! Why don't you put this post in a time capsule and let them read it when they are 25 (and have seen the movie)!!
