Silly question, but have you tried to reboot the cable co equipment and your router? It might just be that they're not in sync with each other. Worth a shot before you sit around the house waiting for a tech to show up...

@Mellodee, As far as the colors issue, have you tried to select all of the post (select all in your browser settings) so that it is a blue background with white type set? I'm not sure if it would be easier to see, but it provides more contrast.
Congrats to you!!!! And my condolences on the no internet. My only advice is sit and drink. Not that it really fixes it, but it might take your mind off it....

Ever pretend you're on the internet? You should give it a shot sometime. It can be very rewarding. Kind of like controlling your own dream. Wait, how could you post this if you don't have internet??? This dream is getting weird.
