This morning during Summer Literacy Camp I was enjoying a
nice conversation with my little group of readers. They were reading a book called Fantastic Fish, when one of
the little boys looked at me and, pointing to his upper lip, said “What’s that thing on your lip? That brown thingy?”
I laughed and said, “Well, it’s a mole. “
“What’s that?” he
asked.
“A mole is, well, it’s kind of a big freckle!” I smiled and turned to Molly whose turn
it was to read.
She looked at the
boys and said, “That’s a thing all witches have.”
I looked at her in surprise! “Yikes! I can tell you that I’m not a witch….”
She looked at me shook her head. “Well, if that’s what you say…”
Lord have mercy I DO miss the little ones.....
