Ian has a friend named Ben who is in second grade and spends a lot
of time at Ian's house. Ben is Ian’s
very best friend and we hear about him almost every single day during Telling Sharing.
Today Ian ran into the room repeating, “Ben ate a bug this
morning! Ben ate a bug this morning!
Ben ate a bug...”
I looked at him and said, “Wow! I’ve eaten a bug before! I had one last year at the Bug
Fair! Have you every eaten a bug?”
He turned to me, shook his head and repeated, “Ben ate a bug this morning. He’s home today frowing up.” He went over to his desk and muttered
under his breath, “He’s got a bug
in his belly.”
It took about 30 seconds for my brain to put that one together.
(Apparently I’m losing my touch.)
