We were working furiously on our “Animals of the Forest” books during reading this morning, when Sasha remembered something from the night before.
“Hey! I saw Ms. Perky lasternight when I was at swimming lessons!”
“I didn’t know you were taking swimming lessons!” I said. “What kind of cool bathing suit do you have?”
“It’s a zucchini. And it’s pink and bwue!”
I don’t know about her, but putting on a zucchini in January gives me the shivers….

OMG - took me a minute there but I got it. How friggin' cute!
It took me a minute too. It's good that I don't work with young kids... I'd be even more confused than I already am!
Here in Miami, even people who really should abstain wear zucchinis in January.
I'd rather wear a zucchini than a bikini!
Hahahahahaha!
Hilarious!! I didn't do anything fun lasternight. :(
You couldn't pay me to put on a zucchini in any month....just saying
i thought zucchinis were only a boy bathing suit.
haha sherilin...lol...
a zuchini...smiles...
i had to read the comments because I didn't know what she meant by zucchini other then veg. Okay...duh! Should have known. I'm how do you say exhausted in their language? disauded?
Having taught kinder, I knew Exactly what she meant! How ARE you getting along, anyway? I always feel the need to check on you.
I just went back and caught up and saw that you are FINE!!! and NOW I see that your old boyfriend found you!
Better than fine!!!
i'm laughing because no matter what age we teach we are constantly having conversations that are so bizarre to the real world. like a seventh grade boy who asked if there needed to be a mystery mark at the end of that sentence. sure was a mystery to me until he showed it: a question mark.
