I had no idea that in addition to saving my @$$ and my bank account, she was offering me a restful and gorgeous retreat that I may not want to return from. I kind of feel like the soul that wants desperately to go towards the light, but feels the invisible pull from the souls on earth that haven't finished with her. I know I have to leave soon, but wouldn't it be great to just stay here.
I have wanted to write each morning and evening, but have instead been allowing my heart and mind to rest, recover and renew.
And it's working.
I spend my mornings kayaking at a yacht club with a pass that a new friend of mine (Amy) has managed to procure for me. She is a friend of Sharon's who also happens to read my blog. I rise early each morning and drive ten minutes to this gorgeous bay. I squeeze in a lone but peaceful kayak ride while the small children assemble on the beach for sailing camp. I drag the kayak onto the beach and read books all the while stealing glances and laughing at the children in all of their sailing glory.
I take the kayak out many times during the morning, and manage a swim or two in between. I speak to children, parents and the young people who are enthusiastically teaching their young patrons to sail.
I'm also realizing that while I have always been proclaiming that I "enjoy each and every day', I'm finally learning what it really means to be present and in the moment. I'm realizing that enjoying each and every day means giving each moment your attention and your gratitude. It also means to open your heart and mind to people, conversations, experiences and opportunities.
I just wanted to give you a brief peak into the moments that I'm relishing.
I hope you are all enjoying your moments, and I'm sending you love...and tons of peace.

gorgeous!
Without a doubt, I think you need a chaperone!! I volunteer.
SO glad you are having the great time you deserve...
Looks like a great place to vacation, remember to wear your life jacket so you don't drown:)
Wow, I'm jealous. That place looks lovely. I hear you--- it is next to impossible for me to live in the present for more than a moment or two with work and children, etc pressing for my time. Thanks for the reminder. Wishing you all the rest and peace you so richly deserve!
All about balance. The last few years have led you to this place of joy and contentment .
Some very well deserved good karma has come your way. I would say "enjoy every minute" but you clearly already are. I'm so happy that you are getting this opportunity to restore your heart and soul.
I'm trying to get back on the blogging train, and I'm happy to see that you haven't yet left the tracks. If you plan to stay out here in the mid-Atlantic, I know of some teaching positions in the DC area. Just returned from an OBX sojourn myself, so I'm ready to tackle whatever Room 215 throws my way this year!
So happy for you...you deserve this time to refresh and regroup. You can hold on to these memories when it's time to head back to school.
