I don't care if you DO sleep at a Holiday Inn Express....do NOT try this at home...

If your doctor informed you that you needed a minor surgical procedure, would you go home and perform said procedure on yourself? No.

If your car broke down in the middle of the highway, would you pop the hood and try to fix the problem yourself?  No. 

If you needed your wisdom teeth out, would you self-medicate, grab a scalpel and some pliers and do the job yourself? No. 

And, if you were sued by your ex-landlord for a significant amount of money for things that were absolutely not true, even though they had a rather large security deposit that would have covered any incidental repairs or cleaning, would you try to represent yourself? 

No, no and no. 

I am so thankful that I followed my heart (and the advice of more than one good friend) and hired an incredible attorney.  I am also relieved that I retained any and all receipts for repairs and items I had purchased for said rental home, and copies of all documents that supported my claims.

Today I am so very grateful for an attorney who did what he has been trained to do and lifted the burden of worrying about this.  I am proud that I followed my heart and stood up for what I knew was right.  (Even when you’re tired, so very, very tired, it’s important to hold onto your principles.)  

Now, if he could help me wrap up another tiny little thing, I might be able to enjoy a really good night’s sleep.
