8/31/10

I can't carry a tune in a bucket- but you can bet I'll be singing for the next 180 days.

I'll be spending the next three evening recovering from what will SURELY be long, exciting, fun-filled, disausting days of school.

With any luck, things like this, this, this, this and THIS will happen. Oh. And we MIGHT just learn a thing or two.

If not, I might have to apply for a sabbatical. (Sabbatical: what a teacher does when she is absolutely at the VERY END OF A SHORT ROPE and needs a year of therapy.)

Now, let's all see if we remember the words to Wheels on the Bus - cause THAT'S what I'll be singing for the rest of the week.

I love the line, "The dads on the bus they read the paper, read the paper, read the paper...."

I look at this way, I don't have to deal with whiny child & teenager anymore, because now they'll be waylaid with homework.

Good luck in keep your sanity this week. Remember, jello shots are always a good thing to have.

Ahhhh.... and so it begins :)

My own personal kindergartener and now gone 5 days without crying! Praise the Lord!

I thought I might have to take a sabatical of my own if that kept up. LOL

Gosh... I'm a teacher... you'd think I would proofread what I wrote before publishing....

What I meant to say was,
My own personal kindergartener HAS now gone 5 days without crying! Praise the Lord!

Oh gosh... Now I realized I spelled Sabbatical wrong... I give up!

I'm NOT looking back anymore... if there are more mistakes, turn a blind eye...seriously :)

OOO, I can almost taste the bile that used to find its way to my mouth right before school started. . . Here's to a great year!

I can't sing, either, but I can hum all kinds of stuff! It's what I do just before I need a "time-out!"

Enjoy the next 180 days!!

I don't sing, so much as i yell on key (sort of).

And a sabbatical, that's what I need...

Life is short. Eat dessert first.

Can non-teachers go on Sabbatical? If so, I'm going with you!

God it's good to be done with all that. At least til the grandpups come along!

Lord, I don't envy you and all the other teachers but I do admire you!

I do envy you ! Spending time with children who see the world through totally different lenses, can help an adult who has seen it all / done it all, (or at least feels that way) see things in a fresh way.
And it would do wonders for my occasional wishes for another child.
"a great remembery" ... my son had one of these.. I think he still does but he would deny that is the way he said it.
muchas besos.. C ( who thinks spending the day with small children is a delight)

The other day I was incredible tired and actually said out loud, "I'm dissausted!" and meant it.

Everybody around here just looked at me funny and thought, 'she's finally cracked'.

I love the language of blogging and the culture we've created. Thanks for introducing me to such a wonderful word.

God bless you! I could never be a teacher. I don't like other people's kids that much.

I'm taking one of those sabbaticals to be a SAHM for a year... I just hope my son grows up to love my singing and not cover his ears in protest like all my kindergarteners did.

I'm not a teacher...but I could use a sabbatical from crazy! :)

I taught the little boy I nanny for Jingle Bells a few months ago when I couldn't think of any other song to sing. Now we sing it ALL THE TIME!

Here in CA, we're only singing for 176 days!
Yippee! WE LOVE a $2000 pay cut!

Luckily your kids are too young to stay up and watch "American Idol" so they don't quite yet know who to tell you your last Wheels rendition was pitchy, dog.

Don't know how you and all my teacher friends do it year after year (ok maybe VODKA MOM is a bit of a hint?!) but I am so thankful you and all the great teachers out there DO show up.

Dissausted - my new favorite word!
